Atlantis: Suspicion
Aug. 10th, 2004 07:09 pmI finally got to see Atlantis: Suspicion" on Monday night.
There has been lots written about this episode that is thoughtful, erudite and insightful, so I'm not gonna do any of that...
Me like. So pretty.
How much do I love that Sheppard says "Okey dokey"?
Well, lots.
In fact I thought that all of the guys on the team were absolutely adorable. You know it's a great show when you find your self saying "I love [character name]" whenever someone onscreen opens his/her mouth.
And Yay! Rodney! You go girl.
I love me some Sheppard but I have to say that I'm having some difficulty buying him as the military leader. He just doesn't have the innate gravitas to pull off the "I'm goofy and charming but I'll blow your head off if I have to" O'Neillish essence.
Or maybe it's just the hair.
That said, I'm fine with Sheppard just the way he is (or even a little less dressed, should that be an option) because it's not like he was brought onto the project to be the military leader. He is the leader by default, and I hope that we will see this concept explored at a later date.
Final thought: does the phrase "with all due respect" ever sound anything but insulting? Do people really say that?
