Happy Valentine's Day...
Feb. 14th, 2005 10:32 am..and all that stuff.
You can count me in as a non-fan, but not rabidly so.
I was never fond of all the lovey-dovey hoopla during the (countless) years I was single. I was never morbidly depressed on the 14th or anything, but I did wonder about the sincerity of the occasion. All of that sentimentality and expenditure just struck me as a little forced.
As my first Valentine's Day with a boyfriend approached, I wondered if I would feel differently now that I was part of a couple.
Uh...nope.
( cut for schmoop - just because I'm anti-Valentine doesn't mean I'm made of stone )
As usual, we aren't doing anything today/night and that is just the way we like it. I always say that I want to go to "Hooters" one Valentine's, just so that we can tell his mother. She would die. And then try to kill him. Comedy gold, people.
