Another Poem
I can't believe I forgot my other favourite poet, Sarah Binks, the Sweet Songstress of Saskatchewan!
Elegy to a Calf
O Calf, who gambolled by my door.
Who made me rich, who now am poor.
Who licked my hand with milk bespread.
O Calf, Calf! Art dead? Art dead?
O Calf, I sit and languish, Calf.
With somber face I cannot laugh.
Can I forget thy playful bunts?
O Calf, Calf that loved me once.
With mildewed optic, deathlike, still.
My nights are damp, my days are chill.
I weep again with mournful sniff.
O Calf, Calf! So dead, so stiff.
Forgive me if the above isn't quite correct - I'm going on my memory since I've lost my copy of Sarah Binks.

Sarah Binks was written by Paul Hiebert, Canadian university professor (in chemistry)), in 1947 as a biography. It's a parody that is written exactly like a serious literary analysis of a major poet. Hysterical.
