Enterprise 4.02: Storm Front, Part II
Oct. 19th, 2004 10:39 amAfter thrilling to the fantastic writing, exciting plotlines and wonderful acting (don’t look so smug Archer, I’m not talking about you) of last season, I spent the summer anxiously awaiting the return of the Enterprise and her intrepid crew. And this is what we get?
I admit that I missed Part I. And the “previouslies” didn’t shed much light on earlier events. All the same, between the lack of character interaction (did any character actually speak with more than one other regular character?) and the craptacular special effects (Enterprise snuff shots notwithstanding) this episode felt like a half-hearted attempt to clean up messy plotlines quickly. Which was probably the point.
Last season I was shocked when Archer woke up in WWII-era Earth. After the detailed, multi-episode-spanning story arc of last season I was foolishly hoping that TPTB would greedily gobble up the amazing potential of Archer’s predicament and run with it. You’d think that I’d learn by now, wouldn’t you?
Oh well. At least we got to see Trip in civvies. ( Read more... )
I still have high hopes for this season. There are some intriguing descriptions for upcoming episodes, so we’ll see what the new regime can conjure up this year.
