Smallville 4.08: Spell

trishkitWow, am I ever behind on my tv reviewing. Not that it matters, but I get a little obsessive about having a complete set, and now that I’ve started I have to keep playing and playing and playing until my fingers get all bloody and I can’t stop even though I really, really want to and...well. Yeah. I have issues.
Everyone has picked apart this episode thoroughly so I don’t really have anything new to say. Piano-playing Lex? How sexy is that? Piano-playing Lex being saved by Clark???? *melts*
I suppose that the less said about the “witches” the better, but I’ve never been known for my brevity or restraint. First of all, Lois’ outfit? Was totally stolen from a Shania Twain video. And, yes, I did indeed just spend time surfing the web looking for a picture of Shania Twain. Smallville has led me down a dark, dark path, kiddies.
The depiction of witchy women truly sucked rocks, but I have to say that Lana is so much more fun when she’s not being Lana. All of the girls must be amazing actresses, as proven by the fact that they were able to keep a straight face during those scenes. Or maybe they just have a lot of stamina and could handle doing dozens of takes until they all stopped giggling at the same time. Whatever the case, I don’t think they’ll toss those scenes on their “For Your Consideration” reels.
And I got the shivers when Lex greeted Lana for the first time after the “incident”. That man has chemistry with everything, even drywall. Quite remarkable.
