Atlantis 114: Sanctuary

Sheppard you are such a slut.

And Rodney is so jealous.

This episode didn't knock my socks off, but it had its moments (mostly whenever Rodney opened his mouth).

Loved that Rodney can still be a total ass after all of the nifty character development we've been seeing. I continue to be impressed at how Rodney is becoming a well-rounded character without losing his essential personality. He is quickly becoming my favourite character on the show.

I guess I haven't written about the power struggle of the previous episode (I'll get around to it), but it seems that there are still some issues between the scientists and the military. Or Rodney might just have been jealous that Shep was getting some. Or that someone else was getting some with Shep. You pick.

I have to say that I didn't see the "OMG she's an Ancient" twist. I was totally expecting her to be a bad guy. Or a benevolent despot at the very least. I wonder if Rodney will relax his suspicious nature in future episodes if a hot chick focuses her attentions on him. Easy to be disdainfull when you haven't got a chance yourself, dude.

I was kind of surprised that Sheppard was so quick to trust the hot chick after displaying his wily military prowess so much in the preceding episodes. Not so surprised that he jumped her when he got the chance, although his intergalactic squick moment was extremely cute.

Teyla is a great diplomat. She did a fantastic job of translating the team's awkward ramblings.

Carson can be rather sweet when he wants to, can't he?

I like how Weir interacts with Rodney. She seems very natural with him and knows how to get the best out of him. She has also proven herself to be quite adept at slapping him down when she needs to. They could be fun together. Hmmmmmm.

And big kisses to the writers for the Star Trek references. Made my night.

And Sheppard is totally the new Kirk.

I didn't like my Rodney's total assiness. *sniff*

Neither did I, but I did like that it was in character. I love having a hero with flaws. Makes all of his good qualities seem even better. I wouldn't like it if they made Rodney considerate and courteous all of a sudden. That's not why I love him.
