Taking A Break...

trishkitWell, I made it to my hometown without incident yesterday. Flying is definitely the way to go - it only took 1 hour to go from Ottawa to Toronto, as opposed to 4 hours by train or 5 hours driving. Of course, it still takes another hour or so to travel from Toronto to my hometown, but there isn't anything I can do about that! I have been and will continue to come here every 6-8 weeks to meet with clients, so the less painless I can make this whole process the better.
Cat Pee had just finished rewriting a real estate exam (she is getting her license) after screwing it up on her first attempt (procrastination and lack of discipline is a family trait). She was feeling extremely relieved and relaxed so we ended up spending the afternoon and evening drinking wine and watching Keen Eddie. Being dedicated couch potatoes, we watched 6 episodes, no skipping, no fast forwarding. Cat Pee has an all-out girl crush on Sienna Miller, in addition to her great love for The Keen. I've just realized that some of you may not know what show I am talking about. Keen Eddie is another one of those shows that suffered a premature death at the hands of Fox. It is funny and charming and endlessly slashy. If anyone is interested I can start posting episodes on YouSendit when I get back to Ottawa.
Anyhoo, I am currently at my Mom's house trying to get all of my work finished. Yes, my sister sells computers for a living, but she has the most unbelievably crappy system you've ever seen. Her mouse is so old that it actually squeaks when you move it (fitting, I know). Not only does my stepfather have a great system (purchased from my sister, of course), but his prediliction for pot means that the house is filled with snacks at all times. It is programmer heaven! Just the same, I really have to get a laptop.
I had a good morning of work and I am actually starting to feel confident that I will be able to get everything finished in time. Go, me! But I am seriously going to try to stop procrastinating so much. Right now, the only real source of anguish and stress in my life is caused by me continually leaving my work until the last minute. It is just insane to do that to myself, so I am going to stop.
And I really mean it this time.
