House

Last night's House was wonderful. Funny and touching and deeply snarky. It is everything I always wanted in a show.

It also gave us some interesting insight into most of the other characters. I loved Dr. Cuddy's little speech about, well, insanity and her revelation about the emergency legal piggybank. Veeeeeeery interesting. It seems that she is the one who hired him, apparently in full knowledge of his essential Houseness. I had assumed that she had inherited him.

And poor Foreman. I guess all that he needs are some kind words and a pat on the head every once in a while. Not quite what I would have expected, either.

Dr. Cameron definitely has more of a backbone than previously supposed. I like the juxtaposition of House handing over the subpoena to Cameron without so much as a thought, followed by her refusal to help him resuscitate the patient. From what we have seen of Cameron I really would have thought that she would have had difficulty with a) letting a patient die, and b) refusing a direct order from House. And yet she was willing to do both. You go, girl.

House himself was heartbreaking. Despite his protests to the contrary, I really don't believe that he doesn't care about his patients. I don't think that he likes very many of them, but I do think that he cares. Even his seemingly cavalier treatment of the clinic patients results in them receiving good advice and treatment.

Anyways, that last scene, dude. Wow.

Man, the patient talks about 'the one thing' that they have? WAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

I know! Patient dude seemed kind of resigned to the fact. House didn't. I guess music keeps you warmer at night than medecine. More groupies, I suppose.

But what a scene. I've been rather teary for the last week, and this didn't help!
