There is no one on this planet who can make me laugh like my sister.

I just finished a lengthy phone call with her. She’s in the middle of a pretty serious crisis, and yet we still ended up laughing our asses off. There are many stories that we have never quite managed to fully recount to other people because we dissolve into laughing fits and become completely incoherent.

And yet, it seems that many of the things that we find hilarious just…aren’t to other people. I'm generally a pretty good storyteller, but some of the sister ones just don’t work. I’ll be on the floor snarfing up all liquid in my body through my nose at the mere memory, while my audience just smiles politely and exchanges pained looks with each other.

Here is one story that has completely failed to amuse any other human being:

Cat Pee and I lived in the Rockies for a couple of years, doing the obligatory post-degree waste of time, gaining valuable practical experience in drinking, skiing and minimum wage jobs. We were traveling to the nearest IKEA, located in a city an hour’s drive away. I was driving (a situation that really chapped the alpha twin’s ass, let me tell you), so she was the copilot. We had temporarily run out of snarky things to say about all of our friends (and enemies), so we weren’t talking much. As the IKEA exit came and went with shocking rapidity the following exchange took place:

Cat Pee: “You missed the exit, you ignorant bitch”.

Me: “I know, you useless c**t”.

Perhaps it was the way that these horrible names flew so naturally from our mouths. It was uncanny. Like we said that to each other all of the time (which we don’t, and I personally had never before and have never since used the “c” word).

Maybe it was our incredibly dry delivery.

Whatever it was, we immediately started laughing so hard that I had to pull over because I couldn’t steer anymore.

Yet we still laugh whenever we talk about it. Hell, I’m giggling manically right now, just typing.

And yes, I realize as I look at the story, that it really isn’t that funny.

But god help me, it still makes me laugh.

In other news, I think I’ve convinced her to check out Smallville. She was intrigued when I said that SV's Clark was waaaaay cuter than L&C's Clark (she's a real sucker for that type).

I know she’ll visit for the Clark, but I'm sure she’ll stay for the Lex.

*snicker*

She's not on lj. She's not really a fandom-y person. She will squee over stuff with me, but she hasn't crossed over to the dark side yet. She has a real life and everything.

Sad, but true.

She has a real life and everything.

That's just wrong.
