I have been keeping very busy since my arrival here in my hometown, which has been very helpful in my herculean efforts to Stay Positive.

Monday and Wednesday were spent answering the phones in place of my sister at her job. I'm not sure how much help I was, as I constantly pestered Jeff (Cat Pee's boyfriend) with insightful questions such as: "what time do we open in the morning?" and "where do you want me to put this?". Plus, I got to listen to endless variations of: "Geez youse two sure look alike" from just about every person who walked in the door once they figured out I wasn't Cat Pee.

In a related note, I walked past a gaunlet of people who were waiting for the bank to open this morning in order to go to the bank machine. One of the people greeted me with "Hi Cathy" and I went through the usual song and dance explaining who I was. She just about dropped dead and went on and on about how we Looked. Identical. Everyone else joined in and I half expected a round of applause as I left. Apparently this woman was so excited that she phoned Cat Pee at work to tell her all about it.

Yes, it's a small town. No, not much happens here.

Tuesday was spent helping my little sister move to a new apartment in Toronto. I am the IKEA Queen.

I spent the morning today training my mother and her coworkers in XP and Office 2003. She also paged a guy in another department to come down to see me. We had worked on a project together and gone on a couple of dates 8-10 years ago or so and he had moved to the area and started working with my mom about 2 years ago. He's a sweet guy and is now married with a kid or two. It was great to see him and I laughed to see that he kept his left hand in his pocket the ENTIRE time we were talking. Nice to know I've still got it.

After that I went to the Marina and spent the afternoon with Dad. I'm going to work there when I'm not filling in for Cat Pee at the computer place. It was scary how easily I slipped back into the Marina thing, even though it has been over 10 years since I officially worked there. Not much has changed. I also had a very good chat with Dad about me and Pookie.

As far as Pookie goes, I haven't heard a thing from him since I left a week ago. I guess a week is long enough, so I really should contact him and see what is going on. I'm very reluctant to do that, since I'm scared about what I am going to hear. In a way it has been nice to be in limbo for the past couple of weeks -- I could fool myself that none of this was real. Things are going to get real very soon and it is not going to be fun. Oh well, as I've said before, I've got lots of support and I know that I'll survive no matter what happens.

er... *more hugs*

That's all I've got!

And man, all those people who say you and your sister look alike must think they're the first people to ever have noticed, too. *boggles*

Yeah, it gets very boring after a while. Just the same, I understand that it can come a a big surprise to people who had no idea that there are two of us.

And hugs are plenty! Thanks!
