Apr. 25th, 2005 07:11 pmMy, how time flies when your life is undergoing a complete transformation.
Things are going surprisingly well.
The Male Brain, The Final Frontier
So, there I was in Ottawa packing up all of my wordly possessions and preparing to leave forever. After THREE days, I cleverly deduced that Pookie would be more than happy to never discuss the breakup, the reasons for which he had vaguely outlined in a brief EMAIL, our only communication on the subject to date (dickhead). So, I took the bullshit by the horns and said, "Are we ever going to talk about what is happening right now?"
He responded to this brilliant and forthright conversational gambit by looking at me like I was some kind of an alien. We did end up talking, which was good. I did try to explain to him that the fact that he thought about this for a couple of months and tried to take some steps on his own did not count as, and I quote, "trying everything to fix this" as I was a) not a part of the process, and b) not psychic (dickhead).
Oh well, I did have a great visit with
cleverocity. *waves*
It's tough having a brain the size of a walnut
In this instance I am referring to my cat. *ahem*
Esme survived the 6 hour trip from Ottawa to our new home with a minumum of fuss, mostly because she was stoned out of her gourd the entire time. I've been following
emrinalexander's advice and the introduction process is underway. Esme is doing her best to resist assimilation, but her efforts will ultimately be futile. Cat Pee's cats aren't too disturbed by the intruder, so it will all work out in the end.
My Brilliant Career
Speaking of resistance being futile, I am now working for my Dad at the Marina as his Service Manager. At first I wasn't planning on doing more than part time, but after appealing to my vanity by going on (at length) about how helpful I've been, and all of the great things we can accomplish I got sucked in. I am actually very happy about it, not least because it feels really good to be needed right now. It is going to be a great summer!
Home sweet home
I have packed up all of my things in Ottawa and still have to make one more trip with a moving van. I am living with my sister in her condo. The timing is perfect since she has just earned her real estate license and is going to work with our stepfather. This way she knows she'll be able to make her mortgage payments during those first couple of months when she won't have a lot of money of her own coming in. Again, it feels good to be needed.
I also made her very happy by asking if I could paint my room. She is heavily into all that decorating crap and even has her own leather-bound set of paint chips. Her eyes lit up and she pulled out dozens and dozens of paint colours and eagerly outlined all of the possibilities. Somehow I ended up selecting a blue that a) is the colour of her ensuite bathroom, and b) the colour that she just happened to have enough left over to do my room.
I'm telling, you, that girl is GOOD. Resistance is truly futile.
I haven't been watching nearly enough tv, but that should return to normal levels of excess soon.
Things are going surprisingly well.

Perhaps this explains the fact that I've been watching too much TV (even by my own ridiculous standards) - I'm somehow making up for your not-enough-TV-watching. Balance in the universe, and all that. (Or, maybe not.)

Date: 2005-04-25 06:08 pm (UTC)We all are, believe me. And it is made even more perfect by the fact that the cover has cat teeth marks on it (one of her cat is VERY curious).
No, we're not worried about the optics of being 30-something sisters living together with multiple cats, nosiree...
Balance in the universe, and all that.
That makes perfect sense!
