I loved this episode. I really did. It had everything: dopey Clark, sexy Lex and parenting tips from insane billionaires. What more can you ask for?

Well, quite a bit, actually, but I’ve learned to take what I can get.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I am really not over the whole Bo Duke thing. I imagine the feeling wears off after a while, but I’m still transported to Hazzard County whenever I see Jonathan. As proven by the fact that both Pookie and I burst out laughing when Jonathan said that he and his dad were always “duking it out”. Ahem.

Jonathan is still a wanker, but I loved the catfight with Lionel. Loved it. Sweet, sweet violence – the perfect way to enliven any get-together.

I also really enjoyed the Lex/Lana scenes. Our Lex is just so darn smooth, isn't he? Not that it would be hard to manipulate your average Lana, but he gets extra coolness points for the Rilke and such. Especially since the scene with the German businessmen allows me to fondly imagine that Lex doesn’t need his poetry translated.

*Sigh*

Now, my dear Pookie still insists that he doesn’t like the show, but I must note that he watched the entire episode with me, instead of wandering off to the computer to kill things the way he usually does.

And he squeed like a little girl over Christopher Reeve.

And he likes Lionel (and possibly Lex).

And he admitted that if this show was an original creation and not a prequel he’d probably be a fan.

And, after making that confession, he leaned over and said “but it’s a little gay”.

Proof! He’s so sucked into the world of Smallville. He will, however, never admit this, being the most stubborn human being on the planet.

Bastard.

Actually, yes, I can see the possibilities! I'm new to Smallville and am very open to just about anything (example: I never went anywhere near slash before this and now I'm really enjoying the Clex. And it's all suzvoy's fault).

I can see a lot of potential with an Lex/Lana ship. Sure, Lana's annoying, but someone like her would be good for him. For a while, at least, and then it will all go to hell and become so fantastic that it will be the ship that launches a thousand fics (some of which my even be readable *looks in your direction*).

There is definitely more potential so far for a good Lex/Lana than Lex/any other chick they've paired him with so far.

And it's all about the subtext, baby!

I'm so into the Clex. Being a newbie makes it easier to accept things, though, you're right about that. I like my Lex scenes and seeing them marred by Lana is annoying, but if I have to see her then I'd rather have him in the scene with her than anyone else (well, a knife-wielding villain is fun, too). So it evens out in the end.

The Lexana really turned me off at first, but I don't think I'll mind if it happens. In fact, it could be very interesting. Just as long as it doesn't ruin Lex as a character because he and the mythology are the only things that I like about this show. Oh, and Chloe, too.

Huh, I was just commenting at your post about the Chloe/Lex possibilities.:) I don't think that Lex/Lana would necessarily ruin the Lex character, but I'm sure that the PTB would try. And it's not like they're going to show us the CLex anyways (explicitly I mean. Well, not explicitly, but you know what I mean).

Let's face it, I'm just a shipper slut with this show.

I think Lex/Lana would make for some interesting scenes. He's even more cryptic than usual in the ones I've seen so far and that's delicious.

No explicit CLex. *sigh*
