The Hockey Night In Canada theme always makes me happy. However, tonight the happiness is tinged by sadness at the thought that this could be the last time we hear it this season.

I love these All Star/World Cup-type games; they're so much fun to watch.

Of course, Canada must win, but am I a bad hockey fan if I admit that I've always thought Teemu Selanne was incredibly hot?

And that I'm thrilled to see Jari Kurri behind the bench?

And that I've tried to switch my allegiance to the Senators now that I live in Ottawa, but I just can't? Maple Leafs all the way baby!

Sakic scores for Canada in the first minute!

Oops, now it's 1-1.

This is going to be awesome!

GO HAVING HOCKEY THIS SEASON!

GO FUCKING MAPLE LEAFS!

It's impossible to talk about hockey without all-caps.

The guy sitting behind me in my communications class tonight listened to the radio the whole time and announced the current score every ten minutes. And then left halfway through class to go to the sports bar down the road because he couldn't take it anymore.

I don't really care about hockey. Am bad Canadian.

In spite of my hockey apathy it is clear to me that Canada won, as many loud bozos good Canadians are currently driving up and down Somerset Street shouting "woohoo!" and honking horns and waving flags.

I live near Elgin and Somerset. There is one guy with a musical horn who has been driving me nuts all week.

I got into hockey purely through self defense. Everyone in my family and in my town is a huge fan. I've been exposed to it since birth. So I decided to go for the gusto.

Yay, they won! I got to watch the last 30 seconds or so. Heh. I almost rooted for Canada when they played the USA, just because I like so many of the Canadian players. Like . . . all the good Lightning players. ^_^ Including Vinny, who got MVP. Go Vinny!

Yeah, I'm from Tampa. Got into hockey this spring watching the Lightning win it all. Mwahaha!

Good for you! Tampa deserved to win, they played a great series. And, I always think it's great when an expansion team does well.

I was rooting for Calgary (I love Iginla and have residual fondness for the days when Lanny McDonald played when I was a kid). I guess I'm not a very good hockey fan...I can usually see the good in either side of a matchup!

I have to say, I like Iginla. That's the cool thing about hockey teams playing seven games in a row against the same opponent -- it gives you a chance to get to know the other team.

Yes, you definitely get to know who is who.

Hockey pools are good for that, too. Although, take my advice and don't just pick the cutest players. :)
